  • Hubby will be arriving in exactly 8 hours!

Which means we haven't seen each other for 2 whole months.

2 months ago I was only at 6.5-7 months pregnant and now I am in my final month.

I've ballooned to a whale with a huge huge tummy. Although I must say all the exercises that I've done has helped a lot. I don't feel clumsy nor am I bumping into things or even finding it difficult to get up from the bed.

Hubby is lugging over 30kgs worth of stuff. Half of which is the weight of baby's PRAM!!! It's a whooping 15kgs.

But....he completely forgot to bring the diaper bag over when I've reminded him countless times. His quick solution was that we just buy another one. Shall make do with no diaper bag until sister in law comes over.

Honestly, I really do wonder when our little baby will decide to make his appearance.

For now, I've scheduled a final 3d ultrasound on Monday, breastfeeding classes, TENS machine rental and need to pick up Epi-No. Hopefully, I'll be able to get through the next 2 weeks with bub still in me. Don't want to be under prepared!

  • Almost 36 weeks and 3 sleeps till hubby is in Sydney.

Next few weeks are gonna be a roller coaster ride for sure! The little one will arrive in no time!

I still don't know how I should actually be feeling.

At the moment, I'm not afraid (yet) of the pain and labour. If anything, I'm taking it as it comes.

No expectations and not wanting to scare myself too badly.

Will stick to birth plan of no pain relief and only having gas if needed.

    Wish me luck!

  • It's the Anzac Day long weekend and what else to do on this glorious morning but to sleep in, have late lunch and do some cleaning up of the house.

Not like I'm the one cleaning but I did my fair share of dusting.

    Weekend has been exceptionally productive.

Managed to hire a live-in confinement lady/helper that will start from 10 May.

The lady is Chinese from Indonesia who lives here in Sydney and is looking to earn some extra pocket money. So hubs and I figured we would hire her to ease the load from mum. She'll be able to help mum cook and do all the household chores. Although, mum and her might have teething issues due to communication problems (Mum only speaks English, Cantonese and a smattering of Malay) where else the lady speaks (Indonesian, Mandarin and Hokkien only!)

This weekend we also managed to score a new car from Honda. My current car is about 7 years old and is in dire need of a change. I left it here when I left and my parents only ever use it on the weekends since parking in Sydney during weekdays is crazily expensive. Now that I'm here and use the car daily, on average I spend about $20 a day on parking.

Yesterday we spent 2 hours in Honda haggling the price for the new Honda Civic Vti-L Limited Edition. Dad decided on getting a cheapie since it's solely a weekend car. Now, we just wait for the arrival. Estimated pickup would be mid May which is 2 weeks! I wonder if the car and baby will arrive at the same time.

As for my pregnancy, I'm progressing really well. Gestational diabetes is virtually gone since I cut down my carb intake and limit the amount of fruits I eat. I even had apple crumble, ice cream and caramel slice!

Currently in my 35th week. Fel is arriving this Sunday which is perfect timing as my belly has dropped, Braxton Hicks contractions and I'm starting to get swollen feet. Some of the few early signs of labour which would mean baby is preparing to pop within the next few weeks!

Once Fel arrives we have appointments and activities back to back. Fel will be absolutely knackered. Within the next 10 days he will be in 5 different cities in 4 various countries! I hope I won't tire myself out too much as I've got my final 3d ultrasound, various doctors appointments I now see my obgyn weekly), orthodontic appointment, aquanatal, prenatal exercises, a wedding to attend, Baby & Pregnancy Expo to visit plus picking up baby's furniture and setting up my room! Then there's all the other little stuff that I have yet to buy like, baby detergent, baby shampoo/soap, disposable diapers, breast pads etc etc....the list is growing!

Perhaps, my next post you will see the photo of our little son!

  • The problem with being pregnant is....NOT BEING ABLE TO TRAVEL! (ok fine, I did do Sydney, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Sydney in that order throughout my pregnancy hehe....but thats besides the point)

Hubby is heading off to Shanghai next weekend before stopping back in Jakarta to gather baby stuff (less than 48hours!) and then off he comes to Sydney.

I so badly want to follow him to Shanghai. The reason why he is going is just absolutely interesting and I really want to see it all!

Perhaps, we will be able to join him again if he decides to go this October.

Other than that, my diabetes is under good control. No ridiculously high readings and I've gotten a hang of what I should and shouldn't eat. I must say though it is a pretty good form of diet. I might just follow it after pregnancy.

Baby movements are frequent and funny as he does acrobatic stunts at night and my belly becomes oddly shaped.

I must admit that I am enjoying the 3rd trimester much more than 2nd. I've found myself to have more energy, more flexible (strangely enough) and generally just feel happier all around. During my 2nd, although I had gotten used to the idea of being pregnant I still had the dull aches and still required naps!

For now, I am thoroughly enjoying myself and baby can patiently wait inside till his Daddy arrives!

Who Am I?

  • Having lived in Malaysia and Australia for majority of my life, now I venture into yet another country, Indonesia. Within the expansive, undefined, rich in culture, east meets west melting pot of Jakarta I find myself learning more about my inner self far quicker than ever before. And so....here is my journey.
